Kenya Serenade Safari 10 Days

Day 01 & 02 : Samburu

Day 01: Nairobi -Samburu

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi. You will be met by our Safari representative for a short safari briefing and introduction to your Kenya safari.

Depart Nairobi heading north through the rich agricultural region with coffee, wheat and horticulture farms among other plantations. Cross the Equator at Nanyuki and proceed north before descending from the cool highlands into the wildlife rich northern savannah woodlands. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch and afternoon game drive.

The Samburu Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five).

Day 02: Samburu
Spend the full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game viewing drive included. During the hot day you can choose to visit the local communities living adjacent to this game reserve or relax by the swimming pool.

Day 03: Samburu – Ol Pejeta

Depart Samburu after breakfast heading for the Mount Kenya region. Arrive at Ol Pejeta in time for lunch.

Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees. Overnight will be at the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp. A sheltered oasis, clustered around a water hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.

Day 04: Ol Pejeta
Spend the full day in Ol Pejeta with morning and afternoon game viewing drive included. There will be a scheduled visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary within the Ol Pejeta conservancy and also a visit to the Morani Rhino Boma. Here you get a chance to interact with the blind Baraka Rhino.
All meals and overnight will be at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Day 05: Ol Pejeta – Lake Elementaita
Our destination today will be the amazingly beautiful Lake Elementaita.
The Conservancy protects over 450 bird species and 15,000 wild animals. Rothschild giraffes have found a safe haven for breeding here, while a diverse variety of terrain shelters many species – from herds of giant elands to tiny dik-diks and cliff-dwelling klipspringers. Nature walk and horseback riding safari are available; you will see zebra, antelopes and gazelle among other wildlife found around the lake. We will have the afternoon at leisure.

Day 06: Lake Elementaita
After breakfast, you will have a game drive on the shores of Lake Elementaita. Return to youyr camp late morning and you will have the rest of the day open for optional activities. Nature walk and horseback riding safari are available; you will see zebra, antelopes and gazelle among other wildlife found around the lake. We will have the afternoon at leisure.

Day 07: Lake Elementaita – Maasai Mara
Depart the Lake Elementaita after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Rift Valley and conspicuous Maasai land plains into the world famous Maasai Mara Game reserve. This is probably one of Kenya’s most visited reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti eco systems giving life to the both reserves finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria.
Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles which makes it even more magnificent. Arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game viewing drive.

Day 08 & 09: Maasai Mara
Full days in the game reserve with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. Depending on the weather and animal migratory patterns, a full day drive with picnic lunch can be an option for either one or the two days.

Day 10: Maasai Mara -Nairobi
After breakfast, depart the Mara by Air at 1100hours arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure which may include shopping. Evening transfer to the airport for your outbound flight on this day.
