Karanja Njiiri is the founder and lead guide for Features Africa. He was born and raised at the floor of the rift valley adjacent to the UNESCO site and world renowned Lake Nakuru National Park.

At an early age he was an active member of the wildlife clubs of Kenya, where his love for nature was natured. He however joined engineering school where he qualified as an automotive technician. He however started volunteering for the National Museums of Kenya and joined the Nature Kenya (East African Natural History Society) and started learning more about bird and their habitats. He is also an active member of the international group, United for Wildlife.
He studied and passed the Bronze Level Kenya Professional Guides Association entry examination earning the coveted Bronze badge.

He has since been guiding and his passion for Nature has seen him travel extensively within the African Continent. He has worked with some renowned institutions helping impart his knowledge and love for wildlife. Some of the few include Potsdam University, Germany, Colorado State University, USA

Karanja is also a passionate about Wildlife Photographer, He continues to learn and perfect his skills on the shutter. He is Married with three Kids and lives in Nairobi with his family.
