Day 02: Arusha – Lake Ndutu
After an early morning breakfast, you will meet up with your Safari Director and guide. You depart Arusha at approximately 0700 Hrs. heading for the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
The Ndutu Conservation area is the best place to experience the annual wildebeest migration calving season. Once the rains start (usually late November), the huge herds make their way down from the Mara River to graze the short grass plains of the Serengeti.
We arrive at our Lodge in time for Lunch. At 1600 Hrs. we venture out to photograph the Wildebeest herds that have migrated into the area for calving. We will spend the night at the Lake Masek Safari Camp
Day 03 & 04: On Safari at Lake Ndutu
We Will spend the next two complete days within the Lake Ndutu Conservation area following the wildebeest as the give birth to their young ones in the thousands. We continue photographing these ungulates and the resident and migratory predators stalking the newborns.
One of the best times to witness this extraordinary spectacle is during the months of February and March when the herds find themselves on the vast open plains of the southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains. Here these animals arrive for the Wildebeest calving season, which reaches its peak during February and March. The female Wildebeest give birth to their young on the Ndutu Plains and start preparing for the northward leg of their annual trek. Watching over a million wildebeest give birth is something of a miracle and of coarse the predator action that follows is relentless. Over 8000 calves are born per day in the calving season; yet less than half will live to see their five-month birthday. Roaming prides of lion follow the herds; large clans of hyena and of coarse resident cheetah make for non-stop action. For these reasons Ndutu is a favorite with wildlife photographers and filmmakers alike. We will spend our night at the Lake Masek Luxury Camp.
Day 05: Lake Ndutu – Serengeti
After an early breakfast, we will depart the Lake Ndutu region heading for the central Serengeti (Seronera) at leisure on a game drive. We will have some game drives as we approach our camp arriving at our camp in time for lunch and an afternoon at leisure.
We drive out again at 1600Hrs in search of plains game and big cats of the Serengeti. We return to our Camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight will be at the Kati Kati Camp Serengeti.
Day 06: On Safari at Serengeti
On this day, we will spend a complete day game in Serengeti National Park. We get a chance to explore further this park in search of game. We will have a picnic lunch in the open wild savannas. Although Serengeti is world famous for the annual wildebeest and other ungulates’ migration, the park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the “Big Five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by game hunters. Natural habitats in Serengeti include savannah grass lands dotted with acacia trees, magnificent rock outcroppings called kopjes, swamps, dense bush as well as streams and rivers. They provide different opportunities for tracking different animal’s species. Return to the lodge late evening after a whole day in the Serengeti National Park. We will have dinner and overnight at the Kati Kati Camp Serengeti.
Day 07: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we depart the Serengeti heading for the Ngorongoro Conservation area. We arrive at our lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon rest. The rest of the day is spent at leisure as we relax and review our images from the previous days on safari. Dinner and Overnight will be at the Ngorongoro Farm House.
Day 08: On Safari at Ngorongoro

The Ngorongoro Crater is an amazingly incredible formation of nature. It is part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area which covers more than 8,300 square kilometers. The Crater, an “eighth wonder of the natural world,” not official is an International Biosphere with over 20,000 animals thriving in its near perfect conditions. We will have picnic lunch inside the carter and proceed with an early afternoon game drive as we exit the crater to return to our lodge for overnight. Dinner and overnight will be at the Ngorongoro Farm House.
Day 09: Ngorongoro – Tarangire
On this day, your Tanzania Safari heads to Tarangire National park. This safari takes you through the Baobab vegetation on the several water bodies introducing herds of Elephant, Gnus, Zebra, Wildebeest and the colorful bird life as you arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and a well-deserved afternoon rest. Later, in the late afternoon, you will be treated to a game viewing safari returning at your safari lodge at sunset. Overnight will be at Tarangire Sopa Lodge
