Day 01: Kampala

Day 01: Kampala

Touch down at the Entebbe International Airport where you will meet a Features Africa Representative to welcome you to Uganda. After a short brief introduction to Uganda, you will be transferred to your Hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight will be at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Day 02: Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you will meet up with your safari guide and depart for the Murchison falls National Park.  En route, you will make a brief stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only home to the only Wild Rhinos in Uganda. This amazing reserve was gazette to re-introduce and conserve Rhinos which had been extinct since 1982.
You will have a ranger accompany you as you track these animals at close quarters. After this visit you will proceed for the Murchison Fall. Dinner and overnight will be at the Fort Murchison safari Camp. All meals Included.

Day 03: Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you will be transferred by your guide to the Nile river where you will cross via ferry to the northern bank of the park.  Here wildlife is in abundance and animals to be found here are Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, and Rothschild Giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, hyena and the occasional Leopard among others.  You will return to your lodge for breakfast.
After lunch, you will have a boat ride upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the fall, stopping a short distance from the Devils Cauldron. You disembark the river and take a hike up the falls where you will see the world longest river explode violently through a narrow crevice on the rift valley and plunge into a whirlpool some 50 meters below. You will meet up with your driver guide who will transfer you back to your lodge for overnight. All meals and overnight at the Paraa safari Lodge. All meals included.

Day 04: Kibale

On this day, you depart Murchison after breakfast and head for the Kibale Forest national Park. The drive is scenic as you enjoy stunning views and pass through small villages and markets. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the “Mountains of the Moon” with endless tea plantations. You will continue into the dense Kibale Forest arriving early evening at the Kibale Primate Lodge. All meals included.

Day 05: Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast you will head to Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing at 8.00 AM. At 9.00 AM you will set out on an exciting guided nature walk and Chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. You will have the pleasure of seeing primates like chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys and bush babies among others and also the beautiful flora of the forest. You will spend about an hour with the Chimpanzees before embarking on a 3 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you will see the famous Kasese Copper mining town, wild animals, and Rwenzori Mountains. You will check-in and later go on an evening crater drive at the scenic Katwe explosion craters which comprise of forested, dry and water-filled craters. An evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains will be the peak of your day before going back to the lodge for dinner. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay. You will spend your overnight at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp. All meals included

Day 06: Queen Elizabeth

This day begins early as you start with an early morning game drive. You will venture out to the breeding grounds for the Uganda Kob. Here you will be on the lookout for Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, among other resident wildlife of Queen Elizabeth. You will return for lunch in your camp. After Lunch, you will be treated to a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga channel is a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. There are numerous species of bird and mammals notably Elephants, Buffaloes, and hundreds of Hippos that can be seen cooling off on the shores of the Kazinga. This is a safari highlight and not to be missed safari experience. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay. You will spend your overnight at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp. All meals included

Day 07: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This day begins early as you start with an early morning game drive. You will venture out to the breeding grounds for the Uganda Kob. Here you will be on the lookout for Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, among other resident wildlife of Queen Elizabeth. You will depart Queen Elizabeth and proceed for the Bwindi Forest national Park. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. All meals include

Day 08: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking

Meet up for breakfast at 0630Hrs. After breakfast, you will meet up with your ranger at 0800 ready to start the day long trek in search of the Mountain Gorillas. You are advised to carry your rain jackets, drinking water, jungle trekking boots and snacks. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for the group you will be assigned. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours. This is among the most amazing experience on earth – simply staring into the deep eyes of the gentle Mountain Gorillas. The afternoon will be spent around the Buhoma Village. This walk gives you an insight into the peoples surrounding the Bwindi. Return to your lodge early evening to enjoy and soak in the landscape. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. All meals included.

Day 09: Kampala

On this final day you will head back to Kampala after a nicely prepared breakfast. You will enjoy the beautiful nature views of the Kigezi sub-region as you drive along the way. The Kigezi sub-region has been likened to Switzerland and is referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. Along the way you will make stops to take photos and lunch at Mbarara town. You will also make a stop at the Equator for an informative talk before proceeding to Kampala where your safari will end.
