Day 01: Arrival at Kampala

Day 01: Arrival at Kampala

Touch down at the Entebbe International Airport where you will meet a Features Africa Representative to welcome you to Uganda. After a short brief introduction to Uganda, you will be transferred to your Hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight will be at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Day 02: Kibale National Park

You will depart Kampala after breakfast. This fascinating drive takes you through papyrus swamps and thick jungle in the Nile Delta towards the Kibale Forest which is neatly tucked sat the floor of the Ruwenzori Mountains.
On arrival you will check in and then set out on a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp. The area is home to beautiful and rare bird species like the blue throated Roller and the shining blue kingfisher among other species. All meals and overnight will be at the Kibale Primate Lodge. All Meals Included.

Day 03: Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast you will head to Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing at 8.00 AM. At 9.00 AM you will set out on an exciting guided nature walk and Chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. You will have the pleasure of seeing primates like chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys and bush babies among others and also the beautiful flora of the forest. You will spend about an hour with the Chimpanzees before embarking on a 3 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you will see the famous Kasese Copper mining town, wild animals, and Ruwenzori Mountains.
You will check-in in one of the lodges below and later go on an evening crater drive at the scenic Katwe explosion craters which comprise of forested, dry and water-filled craters. An evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains will be the peak of your day before going back to the lodge for dinner. All meals and overnight will be at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp. All meals included.

Day 04: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This day begins early as you start with an early morning game drive. You will venture out to the breeding grounds for the Uganda Kob. Here you will be on the lookout for Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, among other resident wildlife of Queen Elizabeth. You will depart Queen Elizabeth and proceed for the Bwindi Forest national Park. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. All meals included

Day 05: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Meet up for breakfast at 0630Hrs. After breakfast, you will meet up with your ranger at 0800 ready to start the day long trek in search of the Mountain Gorillas. You are advised to carry your rain jackets, drinking water, jungle trekking boots and snacks. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for the group you will be assigned. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours. This is among the most amazing experience on earth – simply staring into the deep eyes of the gentle Mountain Gorillas. The afternoon will be spent around the Buhoma Village. This walk gives you an insight into the peoples surrounding the Bwindi. Return to your lodge early evening to enjoy and soak in the landscape. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. All meals included.

Day 06: Bwindi – Kampala

On this final day you will head back to Kampala after a nicely prepared breakfast. You will enjoy the beautiful nature views of the Kigezi sub-region as you drive along the way. The Kigezi sub-region has been likened to Switzerland and is referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. Along the way you will make stops to take photos and lunch at Mbarara town. You will also make a stop at the Equator for an informative talk before proceeding to Kampala where your safari will end.
